"The Mother of Sorrows and the Tortured Soul of the Southwest"
The photos below are low resolution example photos of a very rare original historical painting from the Ramirez Family Collection. This painting was used by Padre Francisco Garces in the 1700's as part of his mission to convert the indigenous peoples of the Southwest to Catholicism. The Ramirez Family has preserved this amazing painting, physically and culturally since the 1700's. The painting was originally given to the Ramirez Family as a gift by Pardre Garces in honor of their close friendship and support. The Ramirez Family has traditionally passed the painting down father to son since that time. Borderland Artists will soon make available exclusive original reproductions of this historical painting through a Borderland Artist Limited Religious Artwork Series. Persons interested in owning a quality reproduction of this very unique painting will soon be able to place an order right here. Reproductions will include a Certificate of Authenticity and a brief history of the painting and its use by Spanish missionaries in the Southwest.
